Well after
the fire that consumed the old dining hall, the fireplace and chimney
are all that remain standing in July of 1971. Eventually much of
the debris would be buried out in the kettles. |

Without a
dining hall, the kitchen staff prepared meals in a big tent donated by
the Army through the hard work of Congressman Glenn Davis. Thank
goodness the weather was good all summer! |

popular skit during the late '60's and early '70's was "The Dating
Game". In this version, a female staff member chooses
from Jerry "Swish" Frank, Rick DeFauw? (help), and Mike
Toepfer. Mike basically still looks like that! |
